State any one characteristic of enzymatic catalysts.

Solution

Enzymes are \textbf{highly specific}: one enzyme, one substrate, one reaction (e.g. maltase only hydrolyses maltose). They also act in tiny amounts, under mild body conditions, by lowering the activation energy.
