  1. (A)B✓ Correct
  2. (B)D
  3. (C)C
  4. (D)A

Answer: (A)

Solution

A spherical (radial) node is the surface where the radial wave function passes through zero, , so the electron probability density is zero there as well. In the plot of against distance the curve starts positive near the nucleus and then cuts the axis before dipping negative; the point where it crosses zero is point B. Point B represents the nodal surface.
