Which one of the following polymers is not obtained by condensation polymerisation?

Solution

Buna-N is a copolymer of 1,3-butadiene and acrylonitrile made by addition polymerisation, in which the monomers link up with nothing eliminated. The other three are condensation polymers: Nylon 6, Nylon 6,6 and Bakelite each form with the loss of a small molecule such as water at every step. Hence the polymer not obtained by condensation is Buna-N.
