Solution

In the steady state the input-diode network holds the base at a low potential, so the base–emitter junction is not forward biased and the transistor stays in cut-off. With no collector current there is no voltage drop across the collector resistor, and the output terminal sits at the collector supply potential. The output voltage is therefore
