Solution

The ratio of magnetic moment to angular momentum for a charged particle is

\frac{μ}{L} = \frac{q}{2 m}

. For an electron with charge

, the magnetic moment is

μ = - \frac{e}{2 m} L

. The negative sign accounts for the negative charge of the electron.
