Which of the following artificial sweeteners has the highest sweetness value in comparison to cane sugar?

Solution

The relative sweetness of artificial sweeteners with respect to cane sugar increases in the order aspartame < saccharin < sucralose < alitame, with alitame about times as sweet as cane sugar. The sweetener with the highest sweetness value is alitame.
