Mention a chemical property in which methanoic acid differs from acetic acid.

Solution

HCOOH carries an aldehyde-like H on the carboxyl carbon, so it reduces Tollens' reagent (silver mirror) and Fehling's solution and decolourises KMnO — reactions acetic acid cannot give.
