Define Henry's law about solubility of a gas in a liquid.

Solution

Henry's law: at a constant temperature, the solubility of a gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of the gas present above the surface of the liquid.
In terms of mole fraction:

where is the partial pressure of the gas, its mole fraction in solution and is Henry's law constant.
